This 300 ft statue illuminates the "Gateway to the New World". It has become the symbol of Liberty and was presented tp the people of the United States in 1883 by the people of France.

This historic area where half a million people work includes City Hall, the Battery, Federal hall, Trinity Church, the new 6-storey Chase Manhattan Bank Building and Wall Street, the financial capital of the world. In the upper left hand corner of the picture stands the Statue of Liberty.
